SUMMARY
The article presents the procedures that you may follow to save a configuration
of an Orbitor, or to restore a previously saved configuration to an Orbitor.
The settings listed below are intended to be used as guidelines and the actual
setting required will depend upon your terminal package. Consult the documentation
of the software terminal package you are using.

Using the Window's Terminal Program
Configure "Terminal" with the following settings:
Settings
- Speed 9600
- Parity None
- Stop 1
- Flow Control Xon/Xoff
Configuration Save Procedure
- Move into the Configuration / Access set-up menu.
- From the windows menu bar select " receive text file
". Enter the appropriate path and file name
information and select OK.
- From the Access Set-up menu on the Orbitor, select DUMP.
- When the configuration dump finishes, select the STOP
button on the windows terminal.
- Use an ascii text editor to remove everything before the
line " Configuration Access_set-up Restore ".
Your configuration has now been saved to a file and is
available for uploading to the Orbitor if needed.
Configuration Restore Procedure
- On the Orbitor menu, select " Configuration "
then " Access Set-up " then " Restore
".
- On the Windows terminal, select "SETTINGS" then
"TEXT TRANSFERS ".
- Set Flow Control to Line at a time and Delay Between
Lines to 1. Then press OK.
- Select " TRANSFERS " then " SEND TEXT FILE
" this will open a dialog box that allows you to
select the path and file name. Check the " Strip LF
" box. Then select OK.
- Once you select OK, the windows terminal program will
begin sending the configuration file to the Orbitor. Once
the transfer is complete, the configuration will have
been restored to the settings indicated in the file.
Depending on the model of Orbitor that you have, there
may be settings that do not take effect without a reset. At this
time you may wish to do a soft reset to ensure that all parameter
changes have taken effect.
Using ProComm
Configure "Procomm" with the following settings:
Settings
- Echo Locally No
- Expand Blank Lines No
- Expand Tabs No
- Character Pacing 10
- Line Pacing 10
- Pace Character 0
- CR Translation ( Upload ) None
- LF Translation ( Upload ) Strip
- CR Translation ( Download ) None
- LF Translation ( Download ) ADD CR
Configuration Save Procedure
- On the Orbitor console, go to the Configuration / Access
set-up menu.
- Press ALT-F1 and enter a path/filename. This starts the
log file capture.
- Select the DUMP option from the menu.
- When the dump is complete, press ALT-F1 again to stop the
file capture.
- Edit the file with an ascii editor and remove everything
before the line "Configuration Access_set-up
Restore".
Configuration Restore Procedure:
- From the Orbitor menu select " CONFIGURATION "
then " ACCESS SET-UP " then " RESTORE
".
- Press the page-up key, select ASCII, and enter the
path/filename of the configuration file.
- When you press ENTER the file will be sent to the
Orbitor.

Using Telix
Configure "Telix" with the following settings:

- Strip High Bit Off
- Remote Abort Character 0
For Uploads

- CR Translation None
- LF Translation Strip
For Downloads
- CR Translation None
- LF Translation Add Carriage Return
