Article Number: I001
Article Type: Info
Modified: November 6, 1998

SUMMARY

In a system where there may be both old and new Athena CPUs, this procedure can be used to identify the board type without removing the board.

MORE INFORMATION

Using the Post Log

In an operational system, the post log will contain information that can be used to identify the specific hardware installed into an Athena chassis. This includes the CPU type, the SBUS type and Adapter types, among various other pieces of information.

The post log can be viewed to identify the CPU type by way of viewing the CPU's signature reported to the OS. The following information presents the specific data that can be used to identify the CPU type. If further information is required, please contact Develcon Support Services.

Post Log Data

The data contained in the post log will present various hardware information. The data that may be used to identify the CPU type is listed below:

        Athena 68030 POST Record

Board 1 POST Information (CPU Slot OS #0)
