Article Number: I012
Article Type: Info
Modified: January 7, 1999

SUMMARY

The Orbitor ISDN modular interfaces (both S/T and U models) may be used in both Orbitor models 3000 and 5000 units. However, a strap located on these modules must be in the correct position for the module to operate properly.

Contained herein are the strap settings for this module.

MORE INFORMATION

ISDN Module Strap Positions

The straps are located on the ISDN module board. You must remove the module from the unit under service to change these straps.

To remove the module, ensure that the power has been removed from the unit, and by using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw that secures the module into the unit. Once the screw is removed, grasp the metal flange at the bottom of the module and with a gentle tug, remove the module.

Referring to the diagram below, the straps are located adjacent to the connector that interfaces with the unit's main board. The jumper positions must be placed according to the model that the module will be used in.

Orbitor 3000

The Orbitor 3000 straps should be positioned across the pins running vertically (or from front to back). These pins are labeled "302" corresponding to the processor used in this model. Both straps must be in the proper position.

Orbitor 5000

The Orbitor 5000 straps should be positioned across the pins running horizontally (or from side to side). These pins are labeled "360" corresponding to the processor used in this model.
