Improve ISDN Circuit Sharing with the Suspension Timeout Feature |
Article Number: T006 |
|
SUMMARYIf you are using IP Address Connect (IPAC) to interconnect Orbitors in an ISDN environment, and using Connection Management to perform protocol spoofing, you should consider using the Suspension Timeout feature of the Orbitor. MORE INFORMATIONWhen you enable the Connection Management Control Protocol (CMCP) in an Orbitor, the Orbitor will mark ISDN channels as reserved as long as their are active sessions on a circuit. Even if there is no ISDN call between these two locations, the channel remains reserved to this location. It is only when the circuit is terminates that the channel becomes unreserved and can be used by another location. To improve the sharing of these circuits, the Suspension Timeout feature of the Orbitor can automatically terminate a circuit if it remains in a suspended state for a long period of time. The act of terminating the circuit will mark the channel as unreserved for use by other remote locations. This parameter is located in the CMCP Parameters menu within the Remote Site profiles of the Orbitor. REFERENCESPlease consult the Orbitor Reference Manual for details regarding the use of these features.§ |
